What does PorchPing do?
PorchPing is a free service that helps citizens understand what their local government is doing. We watch public meeting agendas and send clear alerts when an item matches the places and topics you choose. PorchPing is a private service, not a government agency or emergency-alert system.
Does PorchPing cost anything?
No. PorchPing is free for citizens.
What personal information do you use?
We use your name, email address, community choices, topic choices, custom keywords, and alert status to run your account and match alerts. We also keep limited technical, security, and email-delivery records needed to operate PorchPing.
Do you sell my information or give it to municipalities?
No. We do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or give your identity, email address, topic choices, or custom keywords to municipalities unless you direct us to or the law requires it.
Do you track my location?
No. The current signup asks which communities and topics you want to follow. It does not request a street address or continuously track your device’s location.
How do I change or stop alerts?
Use the preferences link in any PorchPing email. You can change communities, topics, or custom keywords, pause alerts, or unsubscribe at any time.
How do I access, correct, or delete my information?
Email [email protected] from the address connected to your account. We may need to verify your identity before completing a privacy request.
What if an alert or summary looks wrong?
Automated tools help us find, classify, and summarize public records, and they can make mistakes. Check the linked government source for the official record, then tell us what looked wrong using the form below.
