PorchPing

The American citizen’s job is to monitor their government, and we want to help.

Our team selects official Panama City agendas for review and turns them into clear topics. After review, we send email alerts about items that match your choices—with helpful context and a link to the official source. We do not cover every agenda or meeting.

From agenda to inbox

We break the big agenda into the parts you care about.

Whether you want to follow, research, scrutinize, or challenge local government, PorchPing helps you start with the official record and the topics you chose.

  1. 1

    Official source

Our team selects an official agenda.

Dozens or hundreds of pages can cover many unrelated decisions.

  2. 2

    PorchPing

We separate it into understandable topics.

    • Housing
    • Parks
    • Roads
    • Public safety

Each item gets plain-language context while the official record stays clearly identified.

  3. 3

    Your inbox

You get the items that match your choices.

    Why you received this

    You follow parks

See what’s coming up, why it matched, and where to read the source.

The problem

Keeping up with local government is practically a second job.

Meeting agendas are long. Citywide email lists are broad. And the one item you care about can be buried between dozens you don’t.

Too often, people hear: “I didn’t even know this was happening.”

Citizens have a vital job: scrutinize their local government and the people they elect. PorchPing’s job is to make that possible without asking you to monitor every meeting and read every packet.

Why I’m building PorchPing

“People care deeply about their community. The hard part is getting the right question to the right neighbor at the right time.”

I’m Allan Branch. I became Mayor of Panama City on April 22, 2025. One of the hardest parts of serving is remembering who cares about which issue—and reaching them before a decision is made.

That isn’t because elected officials don’t care. A community holds thousands of concerns, and no person can keep that whole network in their head. PorchPing is meant to close that gap.

Where the idea started

The challenge, from the dais.

At a Panama City meeting, Allan described one of the hardest parts of serving as mayor: elected officials need meaningful feedback, but keeping up with every agenda is too much work for most residents. PorchPing is designed to make that connection easier.

Where we’re going

From knowing what’s happening to weighing in.

Today, PorchPing helps residents discover and understand relevant agenda items. In the future, we plan to help residents reach their elected officials through official email channels—so people can ask questions, share their perspective, and move their community forward together.

You’ll always write your own message. PorchPing will help it reach the right place.

Where we’re live

Starting in Panama City.

PorchPing currently follows the City of Panama City, Florida. Choose the topics you care about to receive relevant items from the agendas our team reviews.
