Email & SMS Terms

1. Separate, optional choices

You may independently choose email alerts, SMS alerts, both, or neither. Consent to receive automated or recurring text messages is not a condition of purchasing or using the Service. Transactional messages needed to verify, secure, administer, or respond to requests about your account may be sent as permitted by law.

2. What we send

Messages may include account verification links, public-meeting alerts matched to your topics or saved places, changes to those items, preference reminders, service announcements, support replies, and legally required notices. PorchPing is not an emergency alert system. Message frequency varies based on your preferences and activity in monitored public sources; at busy times you may receive multiple messages in a week.

3. Your consent to text messages

By entering a mobile number, verifying it, and affirmatively choosing SMS alerts, you authorize PorchPing and service providers acting on its behalf to send recurring automated text messages to that number for the purposes described at signup. You represent that you are the subscriber or customary user of the number and are authorized to give this consent. Consent applies only to PorchPing.

Your mobile carrier’s message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to carrier and network availability, and not all devices or carriers may be supported.

4. How to stop or get help

To stop SMS messages, reply STOP (or use other reasonable opt-out language, such as END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT) to any PorchPing text. We may send one final confirmation and will then stop texts to that number except as legally permitted. You may also use your account settings or email [email protected]. For text-message help, reply HELP or contact support.

To stop optional email alerts, use the unsubscribe link in an email or change your account settings. Account-security, support, and legal messages may still be sent when necessary. Opt-out requests are processed promptly; carrier or system processing may cause a short delay.

5. A number that changes owners

Tell us promptly if you stop using or control of a mobile number associated with your account. You can remove or replace it in your settings or contact support. We may suspend SMS delivery when a carrier or another recipient reports that a number has been reassigned.

6. Privacy and records

We use contact details, consent records, delivery status, and message interactions as described in the Privacy Policy. We may retain a minimal opt-out record to ensure that we honor your request even after you delete an account.

7. Changes

We may change the messaging program or these terms. If a material change requires new consent, we will request it before sending messages under the changed terms. You may withdraw consent at any time.
